Mexican Week at Farnham Mill

Farnham Mill’s Mexican Week was full of vibrant colours, lots of upbeat music and exercises with maracas, trying out their traditional sweet and savoury drink and food, including creating Mexico’s famous tacos from scratch, with our chef Steve, which left a delightful tingling, spicy sensation in our mouth.

Starting our ‘Mexican Themed Week’ at, Farnham Mill, with some seated exercises for all to join in.

We donned our sombreros and shook our maracas as we had fun, whilst exercising in the lounge this morning. Others joined in for art and crafts making some brightly coloured Mexican decorations to display for the week ahead.

Party afternoon, at Farnham Mill, with the amazing Janey. She brings such joy to our hearts, as we sing and dance to some wonderful party favourites like the loco motion using plenty of actions and movements.

Tuesday morning, we had fun with a group of our residents nice and early for some sombreros toss game, seeing a competitive side, there were lots of sweet prizes and of course a cup of hot tea for the

residents.

In the afternoon Farnham Mill residents had a busy day enjoying a sunny afternoon in the garden, planting out the vegetable seeds we planted indoors weeks ago, now they are ready we planted them out in the garden to ensure it remains beautiful.

Hola! from us all, at Farnham Mill, as we enjoyed some Mexican word games in the lounge.

In her Mexican Poncho and sombrero, our activities coordinator Sarah, encouraged and supported us all to come up with as many words as possible from the phrase-Mexican Bandit.                                                 

A hot coffee, at Starbucks this afternoon, for our lovely ladies and gents. Returning home to Farnham Mill just before the rain arrived.

Another lovely trip out for our Farnham Mill Residents.

Our friends from the local nursery school visited us in the morning and enlightened us with their infectious laughter, chatter, and a rather amusing game of ‘Sleeping Bunnies’.

We were all amused to see them lying down and jumping up like little bunnies.

A very fun Thursday morning had by all at Farnham Mill.

Thursday afternoon was our “Mexican make your own tacos’’, which was a great success at “Steve’s cooking class’’.

Spicy and enticing for our taste buds. Another great cooking experience at Farnham Mill.

A Mexican Friday morning, at Farnham Mill, as we enjoyed a very sociable and creative time with a group word game and a Maracas Collage.

Our Mexican margarita trolley served a selection of treats, this afternoon.

We enjoyed cool refreshing Margaritas with chips and guacamole.

Simply a delicious afternoon.

On Friday morning, we had a pamper morning with relaxing therapeutic hand massages, which took part on all floors and some wordle games to get the brain going and thinking.

In the afternoon we enjoyed a Mexican themed fiesta with colourful cupcakes, upbeat Mexican music and lots of laughs shared.

Sunday morning, our residents participated in a fun game of Cinco De Mayo bingo to commemorate the day with lots of prizes up for grabs and of course a hot cup of drink.

In the afternoon, the residents had a delicious sweet and savoury Mexican snack trolley touring the whole home including, churros with chocolate sauce, cheesy nachos with guacamole and Mexican corona beer with lemonade to create a refreshing shandy which was enjoyed by all.
