Daily Activities and Trips Out in Our Care Home

The programme of daily activities at each of our homes is especially tailored to the wishes of residents. It is all about building a sense of community in and around the home, which the residents find stimulating and interesting.

We employ 3 full time activities coordinators who provide a varied and interesting programme, 7 days a week. We also support residents so they can pursue their own interests and hobbies independently. In addition to this there are 3 different types of live music performers and music therapy weekly which help to promote reminiscing and fond memories.

A lively programme means there is always something going on in the mornings and afternoons, including the regular and popular activities of outings to Fleet, Farnham, Guildford and Godalming for shopping, garden centre coffee mornings, fish and chips lunches, theatre trips and visits to the local pubs. Residents are encouraged to contribute their own ideas to the programme through monthly residents committee meetings and a questionnaire that they complete every 6 months.

We welcome the resident’s families, and friends, to get involved.

Each year we take drives out to see the snowdrops, blue bells and autumn leaves. We also go to the seaside, go on canal boat trips, and take many one-off outings to places of interest. The activities programme includes the poetry club, bridge club, singing, gardening and cookery, bingo, afternoon teas, card making, the giant crossword, wine tasting and flower arranging.

We have local musicians who come and perform for us a mixture of classical, jazz and old time.
