All Aboard! This week at Farnham Mill, our residents embarked on a nostalgic Journey by Rail—a week full of railway-themed activities that took us back to the golden age of train travel. From model train displays to storytelling sessions filled with memories of scenic journeys, we celebrated the charm and adventure of life on the rails. It was a delightful experience that sparked conversations, brought back cherished memories, and united us all in the spirit of exploration and adventure!
12th August, having a choice and being involved, in our day to day living, is so important to us all at Farnham Mill.
We started our ‘Journey by Rail’ week with a fun word game, in the lounge, some bright and colourful scarf exercises or some calming and therapeutic painting in the lounge.
Afternoon tea is a great way to socialise and make new friends at FM. The familiarity of a good friend and a chat is one of the most precious things to have in life.
Joy in every step and song, dancing and singing together at Farnham Mill.
13th August, a wave, from the balcony, at Farnham Mill this morning as we took time to enjoy the beautiful gardens and wildlife.
An afternoon packed full of activities at Farnham Mill. Cuddles with Tinkerbell, our pet therapy dog, indoor and outdoor skittles and the chance to make and bake cookies with chef Steve. We encourage everyone to join in and have a go with as much or as little as they choose and the chance to spectate is a great way to be involved at Farnham Mill.
14th August, recognising, promoting and enhancing our senses, this morning, at Farnham Mill. Our ‘railway children senses trolley’ offered us the sight, the sounds and scents of the railway.
A chance to reminisce the joy of a train ride through the journey of our lives.
Later in the day, we had an afternoon tea on the Flying Scotsman with Jack and Anna. While on the other floor we watched the journey through Scotland’s magnificent highland by rail, cinema style with Sarah and kept ourselves busy.
22nd August, bringing joy and connection to our community! Residents at Farnham Mill had a blast exploring the sensory Omni Interactive table, where every touch sparks creativity and fun.

16th August, our Friday morning ‘Fun Facts Session’ was all about trains and the railways.
We enjoyed chatting, reminiscing, singing and drinking tea with one another as our memories and thoughts bought connection and smiles to our day.
A beautiful afternoon filled with music, joy, and heartwarming moments as Jimmy Kent brought his incredible live performance to the residents of Farnham Mill! The air was alive with melodies that got everyone singing along, tapping their feet, and even dancing with pure delight. Jimmy didn’t just sing, he serenaded each and every one of us, creating memories that will last a lifetime. The smiles, laughter, and togetherness were truly magical, making this day one we will always cherish. Here’s to the power of music, which brings us all closer together, no matter our age!
In the afternoon we also dined on the Farnham Mill Orient Express as we travelled through seeing residents with snacks and drinks, where they enjoyed a glass of fizz and a selection of savoury snacks.
17th of August, a sunny start to our weekend, with some tea, chatter and sing along on the balcony and in the gardens and cherished visits from loved one.
In the afternoon, we played various table and board games like dominoes, noughts and crosses following with an Alfresco Birthday Celebrations for our amazing gentleman. A very big Farnham Mill happy birthday from us all.
18th August, a quiet start to our Sunday morning, at Farnham Mill, with some brain teasing jigsaw puzzles in the lounge, following with visits, tea and lots of chatter and catching up.

In the afternoon, we had a Model Railway Exhibition with David at Farnham Mill. We stepped into a world of miniature marvels at our modern railway exhibition! As we joined conversation and explored the intricate details of these tiny trains.
