Celebrate the spirit of international unity and health at the Olympics with a vibrant selection of fresh fruits representing the colours of the world. From blueberries and blackberries to strawberries, kiwi, and mango, this display highlights the diversity and vitality of nations coming together in the Games and many more various ‘Olympic’ themed activities throughout the week.

29th July, an easy start to our Monday morning, at Farnham Mill, with some gentle seated exercise with ‘pom poms, balloons and smiles’ to get all our residents going for the day.

After a busy, crafty morning we are very proud to share our ‘Farnham Mill Paris Olympics Medal Table where we specifically designed to highlight/track the medals for Team GB and celebrate Team GB’s achievements in the 2024 Olympics.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed an afternoon tea, with a selection of homemade cakes, in our very own shady Farnham Mill Courtyard where the garden is well maintained with plants and flowers, adding to the serene environment.

30th of July, a varied choice of activities, this morning.

A game of ‘croquet on the lawn’ was a great opportunity to enjoy this glorious sunny day in our gardens. Others enjoyed a pampering visit with our lovely hairdresser or some creative time designing and painting our Olympic photo frame for a fun photo session later.

Olympic Ring Toss this afternoon for our wonderful Farnham Mill Olympians.

A beautiful, warm afternoon for a drive out, on our bus, to Birdie’s Café at Farnham Park. Warm sunshine, stunning views and delicious tea and cake.  Another great Farnham Mill trip out.

31st July, Wednesday morning, we stayed in the cool, with our group music therapy session and a guess the sport Olympic quiz in the lounge.

Residents at Farnham Mill delight in ice cream and summer themed reminiscing sing-along, savouring summer’s sweet moments in the garden shade with each other.

In the afternoon we also had our pet therapy dog, Tinkerbell, join us for treats and cuddles.

Our residents were delighted to see her and happy to give lots of hugs and treats to follow suit!

1st  August, in the morning we had our friends from Tootsie’s come to help us make Olympic torches in the sunshine.

Continuing with the competitive spirit in the homes with the Olympics on at the moment, other residents enjoyed a friendly game of 10 pin bowling to get them moving in the morning.

Our residents had a busy afternoon utilising all the outside space with the beautiful weather. The residents enjoyed flower arranging with breath taking flowers on the balcony, while others opted for an Olympic themed afternoon tea reminiscing about the sports we used to play. We also enjoyed celebrating one of our lovely residents’ birthdays with family making it a truly special afternoon.

2nd  July, celebrating all the countries and events of the 2024 Paris Olympics with a fun, themed game of bingo.

Keith Russell brings joy to Farnham Mill with his afternoon accordion performances, filling the hallways with lively tunes and brightening our day with each note.

3rd July, time for a Saturday stroll in our beautiful, Farnham Mill Gardens.

A sweet treat, in the afternoon at Farnham Mill, with our refreshing and hydrating ice cream trolley. A chance to choose from strawberry, chocolate or vanilla with an array of toppings including flakes, sprinkles and caramel sauce.

4th July, a visit from the heron, harvesting and tasting our crop of blackberries, garden time and games and chatter, on the balcony, all made for a great Sunday morning at Farnham Mill.

Our ‘Olympic Ring’ fruit trolley ran around Farnham Mill offering a health, hydrating afternoon snack.

To represent the five Olympic colours we enjoyed strawberries, mango, kiwi fruit, blueberries and juicy home-grown blackberries. A delicious, fruity Sunday afternoon at Farnham Mill.
