Greetings, racegoers! We are thrilled to welcome you all to another spectacular edition of Royal Ascot Week at Farnham Mill. This year’s event promises to be filled with thrilling races, fabulous fashion, and unforgettable experiences.
Monday 17th, in anticipation of Ladies Day, at Royal Ascot, we enjoyed a hat making session bringing the joys of lady’s day to Farnham Mill.
A wonderful afternoon, for our ladies, in our special ‘Farnham Mill Hat Shop’ time for a browse and trying on experience.
While some of our ladies were admiring and enjoying the hat experience, we had a lovely afternoon tea in the dining area, catching up and having natter while some enjoyed some physical activities with our physiotherapist Isla.
Tuesday 18th, bingo with a ‘horse theme’ at Farnham Mill as we continue with our Royal Ascot fun and games.
Enhancing our sense of smell and promoting relaxation and a good night’s sleep with our Farnham Mill made pillow sprays. Our activities team and fellow residents created them using blends of essential oils that encourage your mind and body to relax and destress. Research suggests the aroma causes our bodies to produce melatonin, a hormone that promotes restful sleep.
In the afternoon, the enchanting melodies of our Woodlands and Hill Brow dementia choir filled the air at Farnham Mill. It was a heartwarming gathering as residents from our 4 homes came together, united by their love for cherished hymns and songs.
Music holds such significant importance for several reasons, spanning emotional, social, cognitive, and cultural dimensions. It’s a tool for self-discovery and personal development, helping individuals understand themselves and their place in the world.
Wednesday 19th connecting together, through the joy of music at Farnham Mill.
Our regular weekly Music Therapy Sessions provide a safe environment to express our feelings and emotions through our love of music, lifting our mood and promoting a happy day ahead.
Catching up on ‘The Royal Ascot News’ and enjoying some ‘horse themed’ arts and crafts.
We are so enjoying this Royal Ascot week at Farnham Mill.
A lovely trip out to our local Starbucks to enjoy a coffee, a change of scenery and the fresh air and sunshine on the way there and back.

Thursday 20th, Its always a pleasure, when Tootsies nursery can join us at Farnham Mill, especially when they bring the sun with them! We enjoyed playing a variety of games on the balcony and refuelling with some ice cream.
We welcomed our friends from Woodlands to join us for our Royal Ascot Lady’s Day at Farnham Mill. Staff, residents and family members were dancing in the sun to Janey’s wonderful singing and tucking into some themed afternoon tea. What a lovely way to start the summer celebrations!
Friday 21st, our balcony is a lovely place to spend time on a gloriously sunny Friday morning. In the morning, we enjoyed a very social game of Horseshoe Toss, as we continued with our themed week at Farnham Mill.

Sat 22nd, hand massages with essential oils, for a therapeutic and relaxing morning weekend at Farnham Mill, allowing our residents to feel rejuvenated, calm and promoting their blood flow.
At Farnham Mill this morning, some of our residents enjoyed the sense of touch and smell as we replanted herbs for our kitchen garden.
This afternoon at Farnham Mill, we presented all the floors and tempted them all with our sweet and savoury snack trolley with all sorts of goodies.
Sunday 23rd, making the most of the sunshine while we can in the morning. Our residents toured around our beautiful garden taking in its scenic picture and relaxing in the pontoon birdwatching and just basking in the sun.
The book trolley toured all the floors this morning for our readers at Farnham Mill and a chance to have a quick chit chat with all.
Farnham Mill’s ice cream parlour opened again this afternoon with delicious Mr Whippy served in wafer cornets or cups with chocolate flakes, a variety of sauces and fresh fruit. There was something for everyone and just right for a Sunday afternoon.
