Farnham Mill had a very successful spring week, busy with lots of arts and crafts, various fun games, exercises, trips out, garden/cooking club and a very fun afternoon with a music performance which everybody enjoyed!
Monday morning, we turned on the sensory omni table and used our feet to play the games and did some seated exercises and stretches, which our residents really enjoyed.
Spring arrived at Farnham Mill as we start our week of ‘spring activities’.
In the afternoon we enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with a fun springtime quiz.

Tuesday is hair day for our ladies and gentlemen where they enjoy getting their hair done in the sunshine and smiles all around.
We were flooded with songs and laughter as our residents played parachute games.
In the afternoon, we all gathered around as we cheered on our favourite piggies in the pig races.
Wednesday morning, a lovely country drive out.
We boarded the minibus at 10.30 and headed off to Chawton. A lovely country drive taking in the stunning scenery, the colourful daffs and some very cute fluffy sheep. A stop off for a coffee outside Jane Austin’s house before our return to Farnham Mill for a roast lunch.
We had a very successful cooking club- making quiche, our residents were very helpful and enjoyed it once it was fully cooked. It was so successful some of the family asked for the recipe after trying a slice of our very own scratch made quiche.

Our residents joined together for art & crafts, making beautiful spring butterflies at Farnham Mill.
In the afternoon we welcomed Niki to Farnham Mill for her first music performance. She took us back in time with some wonderful songs from the years gone by. We sang along and danced with our hearts and minds.
We were so proud to show her around our amazing home, before she left and to hear that she thought it was wonderful. A huge thank you to Niki for a great afternoon.
The monthly residents meeting was a great opportunity to introduce new residents and colleagues and to chat about our new spring/summer menu. Staff were also recognised for their care, dedication, and personal achievements.
Who doesn’t love cheese, crackers, and a glass of red wine on a Friday afternoon. A lovely, chilled time before our Farnham Mill weekend activities began.
We spent the morning, creating flower mandalas using fresh flower petals, aligning them together to the shapes and designs we wanted and putting them through the laminator! Which turned out to be great and beautiful.
In the afternoon, we took a few residents out in the garden, seeing and finding all varieties of flowers we had in our garden. The most popular was the tulips and the blossom tree which everyone loved.
A relaxing afternoon watching “Spring Watch” with friends on our projector with lots of sweet treats and drinks.
Sunday morning, our residents watched the church service and joined in with singing along to the hymns.
