We have celebrated 2 new year’s at Farnham Mill.
May this Lunar new year,
Bring lots of new things to explore,
A clean, blank state to write on,
Fun happenings galore.
To you we wish you all the best things,
All the blessings a new year brings.
As part of the Chinese New Year, we are celebrating the year of the dragon.
Our ladies and gents made this lovely little ‘Farnham Mill Style Dragon’ ready for dancing on 10th February.
Tea, cake, and a fun quiz: the perfect way to spend a Monday afternoon at Farnham Mill.
Our lovely Volunteer Susie, also sat down with our ladies and looked up our Chinese horoscope telling each one of us our zodiac sign and our characteristics.
Tuesday morning, we took the opportunity, on a milder February to enjoy some fresh air, visit the ducks and have a chat in our lovely Farnham Mill gardens.
The ducks were all well and happy and the fresh air brought a warm feeling for our day ahead.
Following on from the lovely fresh air this morning we kept hydrated in the afternoon.
We enjoyed juicy watermelon, smoothies, and fresh juices. All delicious in taste and promoting a healthy diet.
Tuesday evening cuddles at Farnham Mill, with our gorgeous pet therapy Dog Tinkerbell.
Fuelling our happiness and our memories with a fun music therapy session, Wednesday morning.
A chance to express ourselves through the joy of music and lift our spirits, our mood and our day ahead.
As part of our Chinese week, we enjoyed cooking with chef Steve, in the afternoon.
A wonderful cooking class making delicious spring rolls.
We rolled the pastry; we chopped a variety of fresh veg and added a splash of sesame oil and soy sauce.
Simply delicious!!!
Following the ‘Chinese week’ theme we lit our day with our Farnham Mill Lanterns
Our, Farnham Mill, visitor this afternoon. Simply stunning!
Flower arranging in the afternoon, where our residents have the chance to pick out various flowers and create their own unique arrangement.
1 to1 time, Friday Morning.
A choice of a relaxing, pampering hand massage or a game of dominoes to keep our minds alert and active.
We also had a go at using chopsticks. It was a first for many of us and a bit trickier than we first thought but we got the hang of it quickly.
Friday support, comfort and love from our Farnham Mill pet therapy friend Tinkerbell.
Saturday morning, we received a warm hello from our four legged friend, Roxy.
Wishing everyone a happy Chinese New Year from Farnham Mill.
(“Xīnnián kuàilè” 新年快乐)
