What a wonderful week we had, we all travelled to America, trying various American foods and treats, followed up by themed quizzes and colouring. We enjoyed the performance by Jimmy Kent and lots of garden walks in the sunshine filled with fresh air.

Oct 9th .. We welcomed Monday morning in with a few stretching balloon games, a chit chat with each other and a hot tea or coffee.

In the afternoon, we had our lovely physio leading some group exercise and stretches for our residents.


As part of our American themed week, at Farnham Mill, we enjoyed an afternoon tea with a Wild West Quiz.


From cowboys and horses to spaghetti westerns and chuck wagons. We learned so much and enjoyed each other’s company whilst having tea and homemade cake.


10th Tuesday, In the morning we played group dominoes and table games to start the day.

Hello, from everyone at Farnham Mill, on this beautiful, sunny Tuesday.

An American feast of snacks in the afternoon. Delicious Hershy’s chocolate, Oreos, marshmallows, Cheetos and of course popcorn.

Preparation is underway, as we start sieving, stirring, beating, and mixing, ready for our own unique Farnham Mill Christmas Cake.


Wednesday 11th ..We started our morning with the sound of music with our lovely music therapist. We sang, strummed and played the instruments using various beats.

While the music therapy was taking place, others started the day with word games (AMERICAN FOOTBALL) to keep our brain active.

Working together we managed to find 120 words!!!

We had the pleasure of Lord Wandsworth pupils joining us in the afternoon, joining us in conversations and chit as we painted and coloured American themed pictures.

Our gents enjoyed a coffee and chat at Squires, then a browse at the clothes and all the spooky Halloween nik naks on show.


12th Thursday.. A morning of games, we played giant dominoes, some sensory games, and puzzles.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed being serenaded by the wonderful and handsome Jimmy Kent in the afternoon.

Lots of singing, claps, joy and laughter filled the room.

Friday 13th.. A bright and cheerful morning, with lots of pampering, care, and beautiful varnished nails. We then spent some quiet time with our daily newspaper and a fun game of giant dominoes took us through to our fish Friday lunch.


A sweet and savoury afternoon tea at Farnham Mill. For those with a ‘sweet tooth’ and those with ‘savoury tooth’. All delicious and comforting on this, October Friday afternoon. We all enjoyed a singalong as well.

Sat 14th.. All wrapped up warm ready for some time in the glorious, Saturday sunshine. A chance for everyone to enjoy the gardens and company of friends.


Christmas preparation is underway at Farnham Mill. We made the cake and now our lovely, creative residents are busy creating our very own Christmas cards, which will be available at reception for you to browse. Money raised from these will go towards Families Supporting Care Charity.

We celebrated one of our resident birthday’s a few days early, she was able to see all her family members and her Farnham Mill family together enjoying, cakes, hot drinks, champagne all while unwrapping her presents.

Saturday 15th ..A wonderful glorious sunny, Sunday morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed the October sunshine and changing autumn colours in our beautiful Farnham Mill Gardens.

More visitors joined us, for the afternoon sunshine, at Farnham Mill.
