The season for enjoying the fullness of life: partaking of the harvest, sharing the harvest with others, reinvesting and saving portions of the harvest for yet another season of growth.
Monday 25th Sept, our Farnham Mill bakers were busy making ‘Harvest Bread’ in the morning.
After we let it rest and rise, we couldn’t wait to bake it and try some later with butter and jam.

Harvest afternoon tea and quiz, where we enjoyed our home made, freshly baked bread. Delicious with some butter and jam.
26th Sept, waking up with morning stretches and balloon games.
A group of our residents had the chance to decorate and paint our ‘Harvest Festival Frame’ ready for a photo session later in the week.
Tuesday started with a beautiful autumn morning, the sun was shining at Farnham Mill. It was a good opportunity to check on the flowers and chat with friends whilst out in the garden.
A comforting ‘Harvest Week’ afternoon, with some delicious apple pie and a glass of milk on offer from the trolley.
27th Sept, we enjoyed a lovely group session of music therapy with our new therapist Gabriella.
Our pet therapy dog Tinkerbell joined us later, she said hello to most of the residents in the home.
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with the sound of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. A huge thank you to Geoff for making our feet tap and our hearts and voices sing.
It was wonderful to have the Lord Wandsworth students join us in the afternoon, they chatted and danced with our residents, putting smiles on their faces.
27th Sept, our residents with artistic flare, created some lovely harvest colourful paintings.
Ladies that shop together are best friends for sure! Green, stars or stripes they loved them all.
Our lovely ladies enjoyed a trip to Sainsburys to have coffee and cake and to browse the latest autumn collection.

28th Sept, a little pamper session in the morning for our ladies and gents, hand massages, manicures, and nail painting.
In the morning, we celebrated the annual harvesting with a special service from Father John and his team.
A chance to say thank you and join in together singing hymns and saying prayers.
A proud moment for our lovely gentlemen as he was presented with the “Nuclear Test Medal” for his services to the Navy for testing the atom bomb, in Australia, in 1952.
We welcomed two officers from the Naval Association to Farnham Mill to award him with his medal.
A glass of champagne was raised and everyone in our Farnham Mill salutes you sir.
29th Sept, continuing with our harvest theme at Farnham Mill, we had a vegetable sensory trolley, which brought back many memories of our own autumnal veg patches.
A wonderful birthday celebration for one of our lovely residents 98th birthday.
Birthday cake, pressies, cards, fizz and the most important thing of all family and good friends

1st Oct, we welcomed October and the lovely weather to Farnham Mill, with time in the garden checking on the ducks and getting fresh air, while others spent time choosing their weekly read from our book trolley.
Lots of chit chats over a hot cup of tea and a game of scrabble.
