Farnham Mill has had a very busy week, celebrating birthdays, events, trips out and lots of activities to keep our fellow residents busy.

Hope everyone enjoyed the hot weather and kept themselves well hydrated and self-protected with SPF 50!

The joy of listening to and joining in with music lifts our minds and our mood and certainly brings a smile to our faces.


A very happy Monday morning at Farnham Mill.

’Rule Britannia’ as we celebrated our ‘Proms Week’ with a traditional British Tea Party.

Lots of tea, cake and British sunshine along with a quiz and good company.

Tuesday morning, as the weather was beautiful, we took as many residents as possible out in the garden to enjoy the sunshine and get some fresh air.

Farnham Mill residents had their monthly meeting with Alison, discussing various programs. We also recognized the sunflower award winners for their efforts in keeping the residents happy and making sure their stay is smooth and comfortable.

Our therapy dog Tinkerbell came to visit us, our residents love time with her and are eager to say hello and give her treats.

In the afternoon, we were serenaded by a live music performance, we spent time singing along and dancing with our residents.

3 of our Farnham Mill residents joined Hill House for the dementia choir in the afternoon, where they had a natter with each other, sang and stayed hydrated and cool with cold drinks.

Wednesday morning, we had a round of word games and chit chats with fellow residents. Along with balloon and ball games throughout the different floors in the morning.

In the afternoon, we had a selection of cool fresh fruit juices, some hydrating fresh fruits and of course a beautiful shady garden and balcony.

Thursday, we spent the day enjoying the sunshine, taking walks and looking at the flowers in our beautiful, sunny garden at Farnham Mill.

As some of our residents admired the beauty outdoors, a group of talented ladies met indoors and enjoyed being creative with their painting, sipping refreshing drinks and chatting.


Farnham Mill took advantage of the weather, we sat out on the balcony arranging flowers while helping our fellow friends had lots of chats while admiring the scenery and our flower arrangement artwork.

Friday, we enjoyed some hand massage this morning to help us relax and get ready for the weekend.

We also enjoyed a game of dominoes with our fellow residents and families who joined in.

In the late evening, we also celebrated one of our resident’s birthday with our Farnham Mill family, we all sang and said their best wishes followed with tea/coffee and a delicious cake baked by our lovely chef Simon.

Saturday, we kept ourselves busy with some musical instrument playing and puzzles to wake us all up ready for the BBQ ahead.

We made the most of this glorious spell of weather with a BBQ for friends and family of Farnham Mill.

We had the lovely Gareth perform for us at Farnham Mill, we really appreciated him performing for us in the hot weather. Also, to all the families and staff members who joined us and helped, a huge thank you for all you do.

Sunday, a quick trip out in the morning for our ladies to see the latest fashion, trends. We also enjoyed sensory games, 1 to 1 chats and there were church services for those who enjoy watching them.

In the afternoon we had the ice cream trolley, which was the perfect way to wrap up a warm weekend at Farnham Mill.
