The residents of Farnham Mill continued to enjoy spending time in our beautiful garden in the lovely August sunshine. It was a busy week with lots of outings. Residents enjoyed a trip to an ice cream parlour in Guildford and a trip to the garden centre.

The staff of Farnham Mill received an exquisite box of chocolates from the family of a resident. We so appreciate it. Thank you!

 

Monday, 21st August

We began the week with music therapy, a new resident joined in for the first time. It is always lovely to welcome someone new and she enjoyed the singing and tapping of feet and even played an instrument.

Meanwhile other residents were playing sensory games and enjoying their chosen daily activity, one of which was therapeutic painting.

In the afternoon we had an afternoon tea party with a quiz. The residents from different floors love to join one another for this social.

We celebrated a resident’s birthday with a delicious chocolate cake made by one of our chefs.

 

Tuesday, 22nd August

We held morning PE lessons while the hairdresser spent the morning pampering residents in the salon. In the afternoon Tony Algood entertained the residents.  Fun was had by everyone.

We were treated to a visit from Tinkerbell, our pet therapy dog. We find that Tinkerbell brings comfort and joy to our residents.

Wednesday, 23rd August

It was such lovely weather that we spent the morning in the garden and on the balcony partaking in our morning activities.

The residents love to watch the ducks and geese while sitting in the sunshine chatting over a cup of tea.

Other residents picked the produce from our vegetable garden.

In the afternoon, residents enjoyed a trip to Cream’s Café in Guildford. Waffles were the order of the day.

 

Thursday, 24th August

The residents enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, and an art class in the morning.

 

In the afternoon residents gathered to create their own beautiful bouquets of flowers. This was followed by a tea party where residents chatted, laughed, and shared stories.

 

Friday, 23rd August

This morning residents enjoyed a spa session with a difference, therapeutic hand massages outside in the sunshine.

 

In the afternoon we enjoyed a trip to the garden centre. These outings are important as special friendships are formed.

.Back at Farnham Mill, afternoon tea was being enjoyed in line with our theme of the week. Delicious fresh chocolate chip cookies were served with glasses of fresh milk.

Saturday, 26th August

We had a lovely morning of mixed activities; we painted, played ping pong and residents listened to our new resident, Margaret reading poetry. We had family visits and enjoyed garden walks.

 

We enjoyed an afternoon tea with a variety of cheese and crackers and freshly baked cakes.

 

Sunday, 27th August

Residents enjoyed the Sunday Services streamed live on TV, Anne was accompanied to mass by Fiona.

The week was rounded off with a quieter afternoon, a matinee with popcorn and arts and crafts. We look forward to another exciting week filled with fun packed activities.
