Howdy y’all! We all enjoyed a wild time in the saloon halls of Farnham Mill this week. We were transported to cacti filled deserts via cowboy film screenings to making our own cardboard cactus cut-outs.
Monday 24th, we started our morning with music therapist Laura strumming the instruments, we sang along and joined in playing the instruments together, followed by light body movements to tunes.
While some residents sang and played instruments, preparations by our other residents were under way for our Wild West BBQ on Sunday afternoon.
We were very proud of our ‘Cactus Creations’’ at Farnham Mill.

In the afternoon, we all dressed up in our best cowboy hats and enjoyed a Wild West afternoon tea and quiz.
We had some delicious cakes, learnt lots of interesting cowboy facts and chitchatted throughout the day.
Tuesday 25th, we were up and at ‘em this morning at Farnham Mill, starting off with stretches and exercises, which warmed us up for a few games of balloon badminton/bounce, skittles, a quick tea/coffee break and 1 to 1 chat.
It was heart warming to see the smiles on everyone’s faces, as they enjoyed colouring and painting together and of course each other’s company.
Tuesday morning our ladies and gents have a chance to let their hair down and the opportunity to be pampered in our very own salon by our hairdresser Teresa.
Keeping with our Wild West theme this week, we enjoyed a screening of the Ballad of Buster Scruggs in the afternoon while enjoying popcorn and chocolatey treats.
Some afternoons, it’s nice to sit down with a hot drink while reminiscing our past and memories together at Farnham Mill, flicking the pages through our scrapbooks.
Wednesday 26th, down at the Farnham Mill Ranch we all enjoyed a morning of ‘Cowboy Activities’.
Word games, a lively game of ‘Toss the Cowboy Hat’ and all whilst wearing our hats and having fun.
We also welcomed these 2 gentlemen to Farnham Mill, to enjoy a visit with a lifelong friend. We all appreciate great company value good friends.
What fun we had taking part in our Wild West themed bingo, where we all chatted together and tried to win as many prizes as possible.
Thursday 27th, we grabbed our tea, brushes, paint and went ahead creating our cactus cut-outs and painted them to give colour and character.
Two of our ladies had a chance to explore Squires garden centre in the morning. They had time to admire the latest fashions, a good book, check on the flowers and stop off in the café for a cup of tea then a little rest before heading back home.
In the afternoon, we all gathered for flower arranging which brings us all together, it is a great opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and share our love of flowers, following with afternoon tea and lots of chit chats.
Friday 28th a relaxing morning of pampering, socialising, great company and of course a hot cup of tea or coffee.
In the afternoon we all welcomed Tricia Ramage, she performed for us and we all joined in singing and dancing.
Saturday 29th a morning of fun, games and friends at Farnham Mill.
We enjoyed some classic Americana snacks (including popcorn and hotdogs) as part of our Wild West afternoon tea trolley at Farnham Mill.
Yeehaw! We welcomed friends, families and few little cowboys to our Wild West BBQ at Farnham Mill on Sunday.
We all had a wonderful time despite the rain, with the lovely Natasha performing some country classics after lunch.
