A big cheers from everyone at Farnham Mill, last week as we celebrated Beer Week, we had perfect weather to accompany pints in the sun shine. We especially enjoyed a trip to the local pub and many more beer themed activities.

Monday 5th June, a chance for our residents to be expressive through the joy of listening and singing to music and the opportunity to create our own sounds with a choice of musical instruments.

In the afternoon, we held an afternoon tea with a very sociable ‘pub quiz’, lots of tea, cake and beer talk.

Tuesday 6th June, brightening our morning with some happy, cheerful beer fun collage artwork,  the ladies got very creative and let their imagination run wild.

While our residents were being creative making their own beer collages another group of residents spent the morning watching and brewing their own beer, mixing hops and malt together to create their own unique form, which now sitting for few days to ferment.

This beer would also be perfect for the coming week, celebrating Father’s day, where we can try homemade beer!

On Tuesday afternoon, we had baking club run by our lovely volunteer Annie, residents get together and enjoy baking scones and having them with afternoon tea.

Our lovely resident’s enjoyed a home made chocolate cake made with Guinness by our chef, it went down a treat.

We also played pub games, like darts and pool which our residents tried while enjoying a nice beer cake.

Wednesday 7th , a beautiful morning to catch up and have a nice hot drink with your loved ones outside in the fresh air.

Cheers everyone!

Might have started drinking at 12! But its 5 ‘O’ clock somewhere, right? 😊

A lunchtime BBQ to celebrate and enjoy the summer sunshine, delicious food and the great company of friends and family.

A huge thank you to everyone for a wonderful Wednesday at Farnham Mill.

Thank you to Alison and Gabriel for surprising us with a very special visit from Mr Whippy, it put a lovely smile on all our residents and staff faces as it was the perfect treat on a warm sunny afternoon.

Thursday 8th June, at Farnham Mill we love to share new experiences and try new things together. As part of our ‘beer week’ we had a “smell and flavours of beer” sensory game trolley touring around.

We weren’t singing in the rain thanks to the lovely sunshine, but we were certainly tapping our feet as a enjoyed a wonderful dance performance at Farnham Mill in the afternoon.

We will definitely be booking Tap-about-town again at Farnham Mill, Katie had everyone moving and dancing with her.

Friday 9th June, we gathered our ladies in our day care centre in the morning,  they had a quiet time with hot tea and biscuits, they got creative designing their own beer label while socialising and sharing ideas.

It wouldn’t be beer week, without a trip to the local pub which is where we headed in the afternoon enjoying a cool drink, a chat and some glorious Friday afternoon sunshine.

Saturday 10th June, we had a relaxing morning with lots of 1 to 1 chat, while giving therapeutic hand massages, manicures. There were lots of garden walks in our amazing garden outside.

Beautiful Saturday morning for a stroll to see the ducks and admire the flowers, or a simple wave to friends.

Keeping hydrated and cool in the afternoon at our alfresco Farnham Mill Residents Meeting.

A chance to gather, chat and make plans for the future, whilst enjoying some cool refreshments.

We had our lovely “pets as therapy dog” Tinkerbell visit,  she usually pops in to see us at least once a week,  our residents love to pet, brush and give her treats.

One of our nurses brought her puppy Choco in for a visit. Choco won the hearts of all our residents.

Sunday 11th June,  we started the day stretching our muscles, we started with balloon bounce, our resident’s all-time favourite activity to keep those muscles going.

Our ladies were feeling very artistic, they sat together with hot drinks having a natter while deciding which colours to use.

To end the beer themed week, we enjoyed our ‘pint of bitter’ word game and found over a century of words!

In the afternoon our residents had a cool, refreshing beer on a hot day. Bringing the joys of the local pub to Farnham Mill,  a chance to enjoy snacks and drinks on a beautiful sunny Sunday
