Well, the weather has improved and what a week to celebrate going to the seaside at Farnham Mill.  Lots of our activities were themed to tie in with the seaside and we reminisced about family holidays and days out spent out at the seaside.

On Monday morning, along with the rest of the nation, we were feeling disappointed at England losing to Italy on penalties.  We all thought it was a great match but we decided that our Word Quiz that day would be to see how many words we could make from the word ‘Disappointment’.   We made 112 words – can you do any better?

Monday afternoon and we relaxed either painting seaside pictures or relaxing in the garden with a cup of tea.

Tuesday was another busy day with word games and reminiscing of our favourite seaside towns.  We were able to look at shells and remember playing in rock pools.

On Wednesday our craft club made table decorations for our BBQ on Friday.  Its great being together and helping each other doing craft.

The afternoon we enjoyed more time out in the garden, looking out for ducks on the pond.

Thursday the weather was still lovely so we explored different areas of the garden.  We are so lucky to have lots of lovely space to relax in.

Residents and staff got involved in a word game – it got us all thinking.

In the afternoon our ladies looked forward to our flower arranging club with Annie – one of our Care Partners.  The scent is lovely.

Friday was the day of our Seaside Theme BBQ and the weather was perfect for us to celebrate and eat outside.  It was a great social event.

On Saturday, we decided that as it had been so much fun eating outside on Friday, that we had to do it again.  Its lovely to be able to enjoy this sunny weather and make the most of it.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day and a chance to catch up with newspapers and enjoy a cup of tea whilst reading our papers and magazines and see what the plans are for next week.
