This week at Farnham Mill we celebrated Lady’s Day at Royal Ascot. We celebrated with different word games associated with Ascot, as well as getting crafty and keeping fit with our exercises.
Monday, we started the day with our exercise, we hit the balloon around the room, stretched high and low and got our dancing shoes on.
In the afternoon the sun was shining bright, we decided that we wanted to make the most of this weather and sit in the sun and enjoy ice cream and cool drinks.
We could also sit and paint different horses ready for our Ladys day on Thursday.
Tuesday, we spent the morning in the garden kicking the ball around and throwing it to one and another. As well as getting lots of fresh air we had a laugh with it too.
As well as enjoying a kick around in the garden some of us enjoyed word games inside.
In the afternoon we looked through our scrapbooks. This was a lovely way to talk about all the stuff we have done here at Farnham Mill as well as laugh and smile at the photos of ourselves.
Wednesday, we had our rainy-day club. This was where we got to do jigsaw puzzles, colouring, sensory games and lots lots more but it was a good way to spend it with fellow residents and have a good chat.
In the afternoon Louis played the piano for us. We all gathered around the piano to listen to him play as well as sing along to the different songs.
Louis playing the piano always brings joy throughout the home and helps us unwind and relax at the same time.

In the morning we painted our very own jokey silks as well as our own racing horses. This was a lovely relaxing morning before we celebrated Lady’s Day in the afternoon.
We all gathered in the lounge to enjoy a BBQ lunch, we dressed in beautiful hats as well as admiring the staff who dressed up too.
After our lunch we enjoyed a game of pin the tail on the horse as well as watching the staff compete in a horse race.
This afternoon was enjoyed by all, it was full of laughs and happiness filled the home.
Friday, we celebrated the tradition of having fish and chips by a morning of painting underwater scenes. We also listened to the sound of the sea which was extremely relaxing.
A yummy fish and chip lunch was enjoyed in the afternoon followed the fun and excitement of the interactive table and flower arranging.
Saturday was another rainy day so we decided to stay inside and enjoy working as a team to complete different jigsaw puzzles.
