It has been another busy month which saw two visits from the lovely children at Tootsies Nursery. The residents enjoyed joining the children in arts and crafts.

We visited Squires garden centre in Badshot Lea a couple of times in October.  On the first visit we had a good look round the pet department and the outdoor water features.  Whilst on our second visit all the Christmas decorations were on display.

One afternoon we decorated some cupcakes to have with our afternoon tea.  There was so much laughter when we put on our hair nets.

Some of the residents made pictures with dried flowers – it was very fiddly but we were pleased with the results.

This month has seen us getting together with jigsaw puzzles and dominoes.  It’s a great way to make friends.

October has been a busy month for birthdays.  Joan, Peter and Tom have all celebrated their birthdays with the residents and their families.

One afternoon our Gentleman’s Club had a little beer tasting session – they decided they preferred the lighter coloured beer to the darker stout.

Some of our residents are taking part in an Inter-generational pen pal project with a local school – Moor House in Frensham.  It’s a scheme to encourage children to write.  They first wrote letters to us at Farnham Mill, our residents have enjoyed reading them and have now written letters back.

Halloween was a chance to invite the local children in and an excuse for us to dress up.  We made decorations and decorated the home.
