This week we created our very own version of famous artist’s famous types of art. We found a few of our residents were artist’s themselves, we appreciated and shared their work with other residents.
Farnham Mill also has their very own art works along the corridors, we walked around with residents and admired the paintings together, some were painted/drawn from the local area by artists, some of the places our residents recognised.
As part of our ‘Great Artist’s Week’, at Farnham Mill, we got artistic and creative by starting our papier mache bowls. We are looking forward to painting them later in the week.
Afternoon, tea, at Farnham Mill, with a delicious selection of chef’s homemade chocolate cakes and treats.

Mime games/charades with our residents. Amanda did a great job miming actions which all our residents were able to guess what she was acting out. All the staff members and residents had a great time guessing and getting the correct answers.
On a relaxing afternoon at Farnham Mill, some of our ladies enjoyed having their nails done. They picked some lovely shades of neutrals and bold colours.
You know what they say, Pink to make the boys wink. 😉
Our, Farnham Mill, interpretation of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. A group of residents did some water colour painting of sunflowers, while others immersed themselves in sunflower collages.

The joys of gardening, we kept warm, away from the cool breeze, as we enjoyed some indoor planting and repotting.
They will all be planted outside as soon as the cold/frost has gone, so we can have our very own vegetable garden at Farnham Mill.
Continuing on with our ‘Great Artist’s Week’ our ‘little artist’s’ joined us for some colouring activities.
It’s always such a happy morning when the local nursery school children come to visit us at Farnham Mill.
In the afternoon, our flower arranging artists arranged some beautiful vases of flowers to display around our lounges and bedrooms.
It’s a great chance to bring out individual creativeness, creating a unique and different arrangement every week.
A great trip out in the afternoon, to the Allen Gallery in Alton.
A chance to indulge in our love of art and sculpture with a browse around the gallery, our residents were very intrigued and found some unique and amusing pieces, before enjoying a coffee in the gardens.
Monet’s most famous ‘Water Lilies Paintings’ can be found in Paris at the Musee de L’Orangerie.
Our Farnham Mill “Water Lilies Paintings” are proudly displayed, in our lounge, for all to see.
While others were getting in touch with their inner Claude Monet, we had a few other residents join the cooking club with Steve, where they made delicious home-made sausage rolls to enjoy for supper.
Friday fun afternoon, singing and dancing with the amazing Natasha.

A peaceful Sunday morning, at Farnham Mill. We had a church service on for those who wanted to join in, while some of our residents took the opportunity to make the best of the weather, getting some fresh air, watching the birds, and enjoying some sunshine.
We ended the week by having the sweet and savoury food trolley visiting all floors, which turned out to be very popular at Farnham Mill. It included a variety of treats such as quality street, sweet popcorn, mini eggs, skittles, vinegar/ready salted crips and nuts these seemed to be the most popular, many enjoyed with beer or wine, followed by more treats, which certainly brought a smile to our face and joy to our taste buds.
