We had a very successful week at Farnham Mill.

We had lots of gardening themed activities whether it was a trip out, games, art and crafts, all of our residents thoroughly enjoyed the various activities.

Starting off our ‘gardening week’, at Farnham Mill, with a game of nature’s noughts and crosses, flower facts, reminiscing and some sensory flower arranging.

We used the tree branches as the grid, tied wool round it and used stones painted as lady bugs for noughts and mini crosses made by small wooden sticks.

Continuing with our week of gardening activities, we enjoyed a very sociable interactive afternoon tea with a gardening themed quiz.

Everyone is thought about and looked after at Farnham Mill. It was the turn of our feathered friends as we made apple bird feeders with sunflowers seeds to keep them all happy and singing.

Busy, fun Tuesday morning. some enjoyed a gardened themed art and crafts club with some interactive and messy vegetable painting and printing.

While others preferred a relaxing pamper in the salon or a quick walk around the gardens to enjoy the fresh air and view.

It can’t be gardening week, without a trip out to the garden centre!!

All aboard the minibus for a lovely trip out to squire’s garden centre. Time for a bit of browsing and shopping, a stop by the aquarium and always time for a cake and a cuppa.

While some of our residents were out on the trip, other residents had a very chocolatey afternoon, as they indulged in and had fun making some delicious cornflakes cakes.

Wednesday morning, some gentle and relaxing music therapy in the day care centre room.

We also enjoyed a unique game of gardening bingo as well as a very lively game of balloon volleyball.

Thursday morning, our residents were able to enjoy several word games relating to our theme and also make some collages.

Our regular flower arranging group at Farnham Mill were busy making some lovely arrangements to enjoy in their rooms.

Our residents enjoyed the joys of the garden both inside and out. A beautiful sunny day to enjoy our garden and views, with friends and an ice cream and inside our gardening club enjoyed some planting and repotting.

In the afternoon, we had such a lovely atmosphere full of singing, dancing, laughter, and cheering thanks to Vic Cracknell.

We had a wonderful Saturday morning at Farnham Mill.

We welcomed family, good friends, the gorgeous warm sunshine and even a four-legged friend who joined it with our activities making blossom trees.

Relaxing Sunday morning, as we enjoyed the warm sunshine in our beautiful gardens and the opportunity to choose a good read for the week ahead.

Sunday was shared reading with Sarah, as we continued to enjoy the stories in our favourite people’s friend magazine.

Our sweet and treats trolley was a huge favourite with us all at Farnham Mill. Some classics including quality street, fry’s choc cream, mini eggs and fruity jelly tots certainly brought a smile to our face and joy to our taste buds.
