What a busy week at Farnham Mill, lots of fun activities, walks outside, and best of all, family visits. How we love to open our doors and let our loved ones come and share the space with us. But most important is the fun we have with each other and our wonderful staff.
Monday 25 July and we started the day with walks around our lovely grounds. Its always a nice opportunity to catch up with fellow residents as well. As it was the start of the Commonwealth Games, we did a morning word game trying to see how many words we could make from using the letters in ‘Commonwealth Games’.
In the afternoon, inspired by the Farnborough Air show, we had a go at making paper aeroplanes. We reminisced how we used to make these with our children.
Tuesday 26 July and we enjoyed being pampered – having relaxing manicures and choosing different coloured nail polish to paint our nails.
In the afternoon we relaxed doing some colouring, played balloon games or played a spot of golf on our balcony.
Wednesday 27 July and we got energetic playing balloon games. It is great fun playing with friends and it gets quite competitive.
In the afternoon, one of our newest residents had a lovely visit from her family. She was able to show them our lovely gardens and enjoy spending time outside with them. Smiles all round.
Other residents enjoyed an afternoon tea. These are always a great opportunity to meet new friends and catch up with old ones.
Thursday 28 July and we spent the morning do exercises together – We always try and make it fun and there is always the promise of a cup of tea and biscuit afterwards.
The afternoon was a little more relaxing with our flower arranging club. The colours and smells of the flowers is something we love to share with each other and we always have lots of vases around the lounge areas and in our rooms.
Friday 29 July and we spent the morning exercising our brains with one of our word games. Always very popular.
In the afternoon it was time to try out the planes we made earlier in the week, and see if any of them would fly.
Saturday 30 July and it was a morning of table tennis for our residents.
After all that exercise in the morning we relaxed in the afternoon and had a lovely cheese and wine trolley visit us around the home. How nice to try some different cheeses with a glass of wine.
Sunday 31 July and whilst some residents watched our morning church service others relaxed by painting, watching our ducks on the pond or catching up with our Sunday newspapers.
In the afternoon, tea and cake was served around the home. What a lovely way to end a busy week.
