To mark the Chinese New Year, we celebrated in our own way at Farnham Mill. We made a Chinese Dragon to decorate the lounge, Chinese lanterns and even tried some delicious Chinese food. Along with all this we took advantage of the sunny spells and spent some time in the garden and enjoyed several afternoon teas.
Monday 31 January and some of our gentlemen started the day by reminiscing and exploring with some DIY tools. They used sanders, drills and talked about the DIY projects they used to do at home.
In the afternoon our Art Club created a Chinese Dragon. We all agreed it was very colourful when on display.
There was also time for some golf outside although we had to wrap up warm.
Tuesday 1 February and we had a lovely relaxing start to the day with sensory hand massages. This gives us a chance to relax, de-stress and enjoy a bit of pampering.

It was also a lovely resident’s birthday so we celebrated with a delicious cake whilst her family were visiting.

Other residents took part in a Guess the Song quiz. There was a lot of laughter and chat together.
Thursday afternoon is our Flower Arranging Club. We always have such wonderful flowers to arrange in vases. They certainly bring colour around the home and as a thank you our residents had a lovely afternoon tea for all their hard work.
Friday 4 February and some of our residents decided to do jigsaw puzzles in the morning, painting or had a chance to sit on our balcony with a cup of tea and watch the ducks in our pond.
In the afternoon we had an afternoon tea and quiz. Lots of cake and a chance to get together.
Saturday 5 February and in the morning, it was time for our Giant Crossword. Staff as well as residents enjoy this activity.
On one of our other floors ball games were being played. Lots of hand and eye co-ordination.
Another afternoon tea on Saturday and another opportunity to chat to our many friends at Farnham Mill.
Sunday 6 February and we started the morning with some residents watching the Sunday Church service. This can be watched in a group or in rooms on iPads. Other residents took the opportunity to take a stroll around the garden.
