Halloween week has been a time to dress up, reminisce and learn about customs old and new. We also had a joke telling session. Our favourite was “Why are ghosts so bad at lying?” – “You can see right through them” !!
We love to start Monday mornings with some exercise. It’s a great way to start the week and this week we tried out Singalong Exercise time – this involves doing simple exercises along with singing our favourite songs. We did enjoy this and afterwards we did some stretching reaching for the balloon.
Monday afternoon saw us making Halloween decorations with paper plates. It gave us all a laugh to create pumpkins, witches and monsters with paper plates.
Those that didn’t want to do craft played some Jenga games – we have to have a steady hand to balance the blocks, but we also like making patterns with them.
Tuesday morning we played ball games and enjoyed being out on the balcony. It was a sunny morning to be with friends.
In the afternoon cotton buds were used to make skeleton pictures – funny bones!
We made more Halloween decorations on Wednesday. This is a great time to sit and chat together.
We love having music around the home and we always make time to have a dance.
Thursday we learnt about Halloween traditions and also did a word game. It is great exercise for the brain.
Thursday afternoon the staff and residents at Farnham Mill had a Halloween party. We loved seeing them dressed up in their costumes. It was great fun.
Friday we were still in the party mood and so played with instruments and continued dancing around the home.
The afternoon saw us relax and rest and catch up with the news.
Saturday morning, we did jigsaw puzzles and used the dart board – adding up the scores. The colourful parachute also came around the home for us to play with.
Trick or treating was on the schedule for Saturday afternoon. Our Activities team came round with a fantastic sweet trolley, and we even had a trick or treat bag to keep our treats in.
We started Sunday with our morning church service from Badshot Lea and Hale church. It was a good time to reflect on the week. After a delicious roast lamb we watched a great movie – Big Red – all about a red setter dog and his adventures. What a great way to end a busy week.
Next week we have bonfire night to look forward to.
