Obviously, we needed to make changes to last week’s activities programme due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Our lovely and talented activities coordinators worked really hard to organise a fun and varied week of activities at Farnham Mill for all of our residents.
As per our normal routine, every morning we have movement class’s. This week we have had armchair aerobics, music and movement, balloon bounce, skittles, parachute and ball games. In the afternoons we continued to run our Arts and Crafts and Cookery Clubs. This week’s themes have been St Patricks day and we had our preparations for Mother’s Day on Sunday and of course we have continued with our organised quizzes, dominoes, bingo and more throughout the week too.
Monday 16th we started the day with a chance to get active with our balloon bounce session. This always brings a smile and giggle.
The afternoon for our Arts and Crafts Club we got creative with ‘Flower Vase Decoupage’ and were very pleased with our handy work and it was a lovely chance to talk about our favourite flowers and reminisce about our gardens.
Tuesday 17 March was St Patricks Day so we took the opportunity to enjoy some Baileys and Guinness. Sarah and Michael, went around the home with a drinks trolley so all the residents got a chance to try some.
Keeping with the theme we had an Irish based quiz and had a funny discussion on what we would do with our very own pot of gold if we found one!
Wednesday 18, we painted some pictures in preparation for Mother’s Day. These were then placed around to decorate the home.
For our Cookery and Baking Club on the 19th, as we decorated cupcakes. We enjoyed these with a cup of tea in the afternoon. We always have a laugh when putting on the protective clothing. The cupcakes looked good as well.
Michael held his Music Club after lunch. This is very interesting to discuss and listen to the different instruments.
On Friday, we all gathered together on the second floor, to listen to Louis play the piano. We all joined in for included a lovely singalong.
Friday, we had another busy day with Michaels Men’s club. A chance for the men to get together chat, do some model making and reminisce.
Saturday 21, we got together for our usual Card Making Club. This week it was Easter Cards. All the money raised from the sale of these cards goes to the company charity, ‘Families Supporting Care’.
In the afternoon we got competitive with our regular dominoes group. A nice way to enjoy a cup of tea and chat.
Sunday 22nd Mother’s Day. This was such an enjoyable day as so many of our lovely ladies received cards and gifts from their loved ones. We all enjoyed a glass of bubbly at lunchtime as well.
