After much research and extensive trials at Farnham Mill with our residents, we decided to invest in the OMI Interactive Motion Projection System, which won the National Dementia Outstanding Product Award 2018.
The OMI System has over 180 different applications and activities which include quiz’s, art activities, painting, musical activities and movement based games.
The benefits of the System are, it encourages movement, co-ordination and encourages people to stretch and physically participate or it can also be used to help raise well being and emotional stability because there are so many different applications.
In addition, the system is easy to use, so families and friends can also use the system independently of staff. What is really lovely to see is residents enjoying the different activities of the machine.
At Farnham Mill Nursing Home, we have 2 systems set up. One in the sensory room on the 1st floor and the second system on the top floor main lounge.
