There has been so much going on this September. We have been on trips out and visitors coming to entertain us. Lots of fun to be had with the carers and activities team every day. Of course, visiting family and friends are always encouraged to join in.

On Monday the 2nd after our morning exercises we decided to have our news chat out on the balcony. In the afternoon the gorgeous Zara visited for a bit of pet therapy.

On Tuesday on the first floor, we had a quiz in the morning and in the afternoon singing along with actions on the top floor in the afternoon.

Wednesday 4th September. Our morning news chat is always a good chance to get together, talk about current affairs and a put the world right from our chairs.

In the afternoon we gathered on the 2nd floor for Music Club, where we listen to music, sing a long, dance or have music quizzes.

Bingo is always a firm favourite at Farnham Mill. We cover a large range of topics.

Later in the day on Thursday the theme of the day was all about getting ready to go Back to School. We got out lots of memorabilia to talk about and tell stories.

We also did some crafts.

On Friday the 6th we had our annual Sea Side Trip to South Sea! We did it all, walked the promenade, went around the arcades and had a delicious fish and chip lunch! A fantastic day out!

Back at the home there was time in garden and visits from families.

The following week on Monday the 9th ,we had puzzles in the lounge and Arts and Crafts on the 1st floor.

On Tuesday, we had an enjoyable trip out to Bagshot Lea Garden Centre. We wondered around the pets and fish section and the plants were still blooming. We followed this with tea and cake in the café.

Billy Clayton came to sing for us on the Wednesday 11th. He has a great selection of toe tapping songs we just can’t resist getting up to dance.

We’ve been out soaking up the last of summer warmth in the beautiful gardens next to the Mill Pond on Thursday and chatted about the papers in the dining room.

On Friday, it was the last of our Summer BBQ’s. We invited our Farnham Mill Lane neighbours who joined our families, friends and the staff for a lovely afternoon. With the fantastic Jonti Duo entertaining us and excellent food and drink, we are already looking forward to next summers BBQ’s to start.

In the morning after a taxing game of Hangman, everyone gets a prize for joining in. In the afternoon on Monday the 16th after lunch, Rebecca came in to entertain on the top floor.

Our Arts and Crafts Club had the brilliant idea on Tuesday the 17th, of making cards which can be purchased for a donation from the box on reception. All proceeds will go to the charity so close to our heart, Families Supporting Care.

In the afternoon we had singalong with musical instruments. This is such a fun way to enjoy music.

Wednesday the 18th, after a “Harvest Special” church service with Wendy Edwards, Paul from Memory Lane sang and danced with us.

Thursday morning for our exercises we played basketball on the balcony and we had a trip out to Redfield’s Garden Centre. We looked all the wears before a cuppa and cake in the lovely tearoom.

The little rays of sunshine from Bright Horizons Nursery did some arts and crafts with us on Friday morning.

The vibrant Natasha from Get Happy Productions performed an energetic routine later that day.

On Monday morning we went out and met with the year 11 Health and Social Care Students at Farnham Heath End Secondary School to chat with the students about our school days. They had lots of questions for us and served a lovely tea and biscuits.

Our weekly fresh flower delivery is always put together but our talented ladies. They are full of vibrant colours and are placed around the home.

On Thursday morning we also did a word search and Phil Harmonica joined us in the afternoon for something different – a bit of Country and Western. YeeHaa!

Our activities group were enchanted but the children from Tootsies. We played games and read stories and as a special treat had some ice cream.

To round off the Monday the huge “Shuffle Tunes” Choir performed for us. The top floor was full to the rafters with residents, staff and choir members.
