We started the month and the week on the 2nd of June, with some little rays of sunshine visiting the home. Tootsies Nursery, are such a delight to the residents and this week the activity of choice was playdough.
In the afternoon while the residents helped with scrap booking. During this time Zara visited and brought more smiles.
Tuesday the 4th was National Cheese Day and after Word Search in the morning. We had a cheese tasting followed by a cheesy quiz.
Wednesdays are our regular day for outings. This time the residents chose Bagshot Lea. The whole centre was in full bloom and smelt fabulous.
Art Club is a great time to catch up and chat. The residents chose painting this week and a variety of subjects.
We do all sorts of different chair exercises. On the 6th we tried something new, with colourful pom poms. They were a great new addition to our regular routine.
Every day while the weather is fine our residents go out into the grounds for a wonder around the beautiful gardens. On the 6th, with the weather this was particularly enjoyable.
One of our regular entertainers Gareth came to sing to us on the 7th. He has everyone joining in for a sing a long and a dance.
D Day’s 75th Anniversary, couldn’t be missed and to celebrate, Natasha put on an energetic show full of songs from the era.
Farnham Mills Gardening Club is blooming. With all the lovely sunshine on the 10th everyone was out enjoying it.
Monday began with ball games in the lounge. Which can sometimes be a little too competitive.
Zara popped in again for a visit. She is a lovely addition to Farnham Mill and almost feels like part of the family.
This month’s Art Club theme is Sunflowers, which is obviously close to our heart at Farnham Mill. On the 11th we started preparations for the Sunflower Still Life Exhibition later in the month.
Wings of Freedom came in for a demonstration of a variety of owls. It is very informative and they are surprisingly friendly.
Wednesday the 12th was relaxed. Alison came to visit with her Goats. They are very happy to sit on your lap and be fed.
In the afternoon sometime in the sunshine in the garden and watching the ducks and geese, was just the tonic we all enjoy.
On the afternoon of the 13th ,Terry Owens came to sing to us in the spacious lounge on the top floor.
Friday the 14th in the morning, we had flower arranging and a quiz and in the afternoon the first of our Summer BBQs. With over 100 residents, their friends and family.
Monday the 17th included games and puzzles and a continuation with preparations for the Sunflower Art Exhibition. Some of our residents are truly talented artists.
Tuesday the 18th the while some residents went to the Lake House Tea room trip, the Gardening Club were finishing off the Vegetable patch which is now full to the brim.
After Wendy Edwards Church Service in the morning of the 19th we put together our final works for the Sunflower Still Life Exhibition.

On the 21st Bright Horizons Nursery Visit. With lots of chatter and giggles.
In the afternoon Brendan McEnahill came in to do a Violin and Flute performance that was very moving.
Monday the 24th was very warm, so ice cream and drinks in the garden were a definite.
There was also Knit and Knatter in the cool shade of the balcony.
The 26th started with Scrabble and games in the lounge. We also joined Pam for her birthday with her friends and family.
In the afternoon the older children from Heath End visited. The students played board games with the residents and are very interested in stories about their lives growing up and their families.
Wednesday the 29th ,we ventured to Badshot Lea for our day trip. There is always so much to see.
Farnham Mills Music and Dance Club was in full swing on the 26th in the afternoon. Everyone was up and dancing to a selection of favourite tunes.
Thursday the 27th there were exercises on the balcony and cupcake decorating in the late morning.
Farnham Mill were Winners again! This time of the Inter-Home N.A.P.A Staff performance, held at Hill House. Staff and residents joined together for a talent show to raise money for the National Activity and Performance Association!
We finished off the week and the month on the 28th in the sunshine with some lovely Summer Fruit tasting….
Family visits, sitting in the garden and ice cream. Life is good!
